FAQ’S

1. What is Mi Familia Lavanderia?

Answer: Mi Familia Lavanderia is a family-owned, self-service express laundromat serving the Napa Valley since 1978. It evolved from Mi Familia Market—a long-standing staple for Hispanic foods in the area—into a modern facility that offers quick, efficient, and quality laundry services so you can spend less time on chores and more time on what matters most to you.

2. What are your operating hours and where are you located?

Answer: Operating hours vary by location. At 8 Avon Ave in Napa, CA is typically open from 5:00 AM until 12:00 AM (next day) every day. Additional facilities at locations such as 2908 First Street and 1661 W Imola Ave may have slightly differing hours.

3. What laundry services and amenities do you offer?

Answer: At Mi Familia Lavanderia, customers enjoy a clean and friendly environment featuring brand new, large-capacity washers and dryers that complete laundry cycles in about one hour. Other amenities include:

  • Express washers and dryers for quick cycles
  • Coin-operated
  • Central air conditioning
  • Free Wi-Fi

4. Can I reserve a machine in advance?

Answer: To ensure fair access for everyone, most of our locations do not allow advance reservations. We encourage you to plan your visit during off-peak hours if you have a larger load to manage. This policy prevents any one customer from monopolizing the machines and keeps the flow of customers moving smoothly.

5. How long should I stay near my machine once a cycle starts?

Answer: It’s important to set a timer matching the cycle duration (usually 25–35 minutes for washing and up to an hour for drying). We ask our customers to monitor their machines closely to remove their laundry promptly after the cycle ends. If you need to step away briefly, please ensure it’s only a short pause so you’re there when the cycle finishes.

6. Are there any specific etiquette guidelines I should follow while using the laundromat?

Answer: Yes. We encourage all customers to:

  • Load machines properly by not overloading them (which can damage the equipment).
  • Only use the recommended amount of detergent (especially in front-loading machines).
  • Remove your laundry promptly once a cycle is completed.
  • Respect others’ belongings by not moving items without proper notice.

Following these guidelines helps keep the environment efficient, safe, and respectful for everyone.
